From Freshly Made Subs to Fresh Starts: Subway Supports Apprentices
Subway® Australia (Subway) has announced its support for National Apprenticeship Week™ 2026, backing the rapidly growing national initiative by MIGAS Apprentices & Trainees to elevate apprenticeships and strengthen Australia’s skilled workforce.
Since its launch in 2022, National Apprenticeship Week Australia has seen explosive growth, with increasing employer participation, government backing, and national attention as industries seek stronger pathways to address skills shortages and develop emerging talent.
To mark the National Apprenticeship Week, Subway will nourish hungry tradies and apprentices by popping up at Brisbane work sites and TAFE’s Acacia Ridge campus.
“We’re proud to see much-loved brands like Subway step forward to support apprentices in tangible ways. Turning up with a freshly made sub is really all about putting encouragement into action and recognising apprentices where they learn, work and build their careers,” David Hoey, MIGAS Chief Executive, said.
During National Apprenticeship Week (9–15 February 2026), Subway is shouting delicious breakfast subs at a TAFE Queensland Street Party, where as many as 400 apprentices are expected to fuel up.
Subway will also partner with Triple M Brisbane to deliver freshly made subs directly to worksites across Brisbane.
“Great careers don’t happen overnight — they’re built layer by layer, just like a great sub. At Subway, we’re proud to champion apprentices as they stack skills, grow their confidence, and shape incredible futures,” said Rodica Titeica, Senior Director of Marketing , Subway ANZ.

About National Apprenticeship Week Australia
National Apprenticeship Week Australia™ is an inclusive initiative by MIGAS Apprentices & Trainees that celebrates apprenticeships and traineeships as cornerstones of individual skill development and national economic strength.
Observed annually in the second week of February, National Apprenticeship Week unites stakeholders across the apprenticeship ecosystem to acknowledge achievements, elevate career pathways, and recognise the employers and organisations who invest in developing Australia’s future workforce.
The theme in 2026 is “It’s in the making”, which highlights the potential of every individual to thrive as an apprentice through the transformative power of quality training and support. It recognises that successful careers are built through dedication, mentorship, and the sustained commitment of government, employers, and training providers working together.
