About National Apprenticeship Week Australia

National Apprenticeship Week Australia (NAWA) is a nationwide observance dedicated to raising the profile of Australian apprenticeships and traineeships.

It shines a spotlight on the thousands of apprentices, trainees, and employers who keep industries moving and shape the skills that drive Australia’s economy.

This inclusive week-long observance brings together:

  • Employers seeking skilled talent

  • Job seekers exploring career pathways

  • Students considering their future options

  • Industry leaders championing skills development

  • Government supporting workforce initiatives

  • Communities celebrating local achievement

NAWA raises awareness of the incredible opportunities available through Australian Apprenticeships. It's about showcasing real pathways to meaningful, well-paid careers while addressing Australia's critical skills shortages.

Our Story

NAWA was launched in Australia in 2022, inspired by successful apprenticeship weeks around the world.

It is an initiative of MIGAS Apprentices & Trainees, a national organisation that has been employing and mentoring apprentices for over 35 years.
